About

Personals Uncut: The New York Edition is an edgy contemporary comedy poised to escort theatergoers on a laugh-filled trip through the uncensored world of cyber-dating.  Personals Uncut features a cast of 11 who are looking for love (well... mostly).  They comically portray assorted characters via a series of monologues and vingnettes.  The show explores how singles “sell themselves” in the world of online dating.

About the Playwright

The show is penned and directed by native Clevelander, Jennifer Griffin.   Jen ventured to the Big Apple from Cleveland to study at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Following graduation, she worked odd jobs around NYC  "to support her acting habit."  The characters she encountered through those odd jobs became the inspiration  and voices to jump-start her creativity and help her rediscover her love of writing. Not unlike Carrie Bradshaw of Sex & the City, Jennifer began writing Personals Uncut in 2006 from her NYC apartment.  She is thrilled to be directing and producing her very first play in her hometown, adding, “I’ve been blessed to have found such a talented cast to make the characters I wrote come alive."
